Lionel Messi is an athlete whom I admire a lot, both for his on-field and off-field personality. What I find most attractive is his courage to take on defenders after defenders, slaloming past each and every one of them again and again despite not succeeding everytime and also knowing that the opponents would be pulling out all the stops to deny him. The image of him dribbling through tackles after tackles is one of utmost self-confidence.
